We are looking for the following qualities in potential employees:
• No experience required but experience preferred
• Excitement about working in the concrete trade. Come learn the steps involved in turning raw materials into functional products enjoyed for decades.
• Punctuality; concrete requires employees to show up on time. The concrete chemical reaction does not wait!
• Ability to follow directions but also can see needs on a project and want to solve them
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work for 8 hours a day, outside, on your feet while lifting objects and placing materials
• Positive attitude and desire to work
Daily job duties include:
• Raking and shoveling ground to prepare site for concrete area
• Measuring and setting chalk lines and setting level to define area for concrete
• Moving concrete forms and wood in place for forming concrete pour area
• For concrete flat work: securing lumber forms in place and together using stakes, nails, screws
• For concrete footings and foundations: securing concrete forms in place and together using wedge bolts, brackets, whalers, turnbuckles, nails, and stakes. This may involve working off the ground with a harness
• Placing rebar and tying it together using wire
• Listening and assisting the team with functions related to the pouring of concrete footings and foundations
• Assisting in the pouring of concrete flat work
• If you have experience finishing flat work: assisting with screeding, floating, troweling, edging, joining, finishing and brooming the pad while working closely with the team
• Cleaning up the tools jobsite area
• Supporting a safe working environment by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and by following safe building practices to minimize job site accidents and injuries
