I’m the owner of Nomad Builders. We have used Koan for driveways, spot footers, foundations and garage floors. They’re my favorite concrete contractor in the city. Dave is especially good at managing slope and water in extremely large sections of concrete. This is a rare skill and we keep hiring them because of this. Concrete is a huge investment, hire these guys so it’s at least done right.

OMG, the driveway looks fantastic. David and his crew were timely, fair, and thorough. David treats his employees like he does his customers: with respect, kindness, and honesty. Koan excavated my old garage foundation, built my new garage foundation, and installed french drains to help with the drainage around my garage. Koan did an incredible job. Their work product is top notch. Dave and Keelan are both good people and great to work with. They’re communicative, organized, professional, and trustworthy.

I highly recommend Dave Koan and Koan Builders. My HOA worked with Dave to repair a shoddy job left incomplete by another contractor. They did saw cutting, poured concrete, and repaired cracked concrete. Dave communicated well, met timelines, and provided an excellent work product.

Great experience working with this company. They are attentive and go above and beyond to make things right. They built my foundations for an addition and ADU as well as poured a new cement porch. Dave and his crew from Koen Builders have done several jobs for us. First was a driveway and sidewalk. Next they poured an RV pad. Lastly they created a beautiful concrete patio in the backyard. The patio was a huge project which included new roof support beams, a tear out of our old concrete patio and a new colored poured patio. Prior to the new patio we were constantly plagued by rain water coming into our basement. Dave and his team designed and installed a French drain system. No more water problems!! They did a phenomenal job! We were impressed how quickly all jobs were completed. We highly recommend Koen Builders. They are fair, trustworthy and efficient. These guys are top notch- they are definitely who you hire if you are a little picky about everything like me as their quality is exceptional. My concrete was done in a timely manner, it was graded properly to allow proper drainage, it’s just smooth and gorgeous. Highly recommended. Plus they are just cool normal people as well who strive to do a good job.

Recommended to me by a friend in the construction business, Koan Builders exceeded my expectations. They showed up on time, worked very hard, finished on time and did a fantastic job. David was patient as we worked out the not so straightforward details. The work scope increased mid-job, due to impossible to predict situations, but the additional cost was more than fair for the work that was added and it was all discussed as we went. No surprises. I will totally use Koan Builders for my next job and highly recommend them.

Koan did a great job helping us finish our landscaping. They added onto our driveway, built a retaining wall, and poured new pads in our backyard. The pricing was great, the price was exactly what was quoted, they were great about communicating, and they made every timeline estimate.

Dave and the team are pros! In 5 days (over the 4th of July holiday nonetheless) they excavated my old driveway/garage slab, prepped for a new driveway/slab, poured both, and laid conduit for my underground electrical and communications cable. I am really happy with the final product and highly recommend them.
